DDG is currently seeking a Construction Surveyor in our Smithers office. Successful candidate will be
responsible for performing field survey work on projects in the construction, transportation, mining and
land development industries. We are a small interpersonal firm located in the beautiful Bulkley Valley
and work on numerous projects throughout northern British Columbia.

key responsibilities

Manage and perform field survey work with the help of Survey Assistants

Provide guidance and mentorship to Survey Assistants working with you
-
Coordinate field survey work and survey methodology
-
Act as a company representative, liaising directly with clients and field representatives

Gather, prepare and communicate field notes and digital data for Drafting personnel
qualifications

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or have an equivalent amount of related experience.

3 to 5 years of experience in the Survey Crew Chief role

Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations
-
Strong problem solving skills in a field environment

Good communication skills - verbal and written

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office

The ability to work well in a team environment

A valid driver's license and can provide a clean driver's abstract

Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid or H2S safety training is an asset
